Welcome to the 2018 Crude season !
Lacrosse is entering its 13th year in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse
League. This year is a very special year as we will have a Tier I and Tier II
team. The last time the Crude program had a Tier II team was the Riggers in
We are very
excited to have a Tier II team and we feel it will be a competitive team right
out of the gate. The Vice President of Tier II Lacrosse and General Manager of
the Crude Tier II team is Rick Runions. Rick brings lots of experience from his
time with the North Edmonton Wizards Tier II team.
The Crude is happy to announce that Tony Dube
has accepted the Head Coach position and Mason Dube the Assistant Coach
position. Both Tony and Mason bring lots of Tier II experience. We are very
happy to announce that the Tier II Crude will have a very experienced Trainer
as Rigel Carias has accepted the position. Rigel has been with the Jr. B Hawks
of the CJHL since 2012.
We are very
excited about this year’s edition of the Tier I team. We have been in a rebuilding
mode for the past few years and 2018 should be the year that we see the results
of the rebuild. The Tier I Crude have a very strong returning group of players
and we feel we drafted a group of players that can make our team and be impact
players right out of the gate. This combination has the coaching staff feeling
very positive about the 2018 season.
Both the Tier
and Tier II Crude will play at Akinsdale Arena in St. Albert. The Tier II
season will begin somewhere around the 3rd
week of April and the
Tier I team should start in the last week of April.
Lacrosse Club owes all of its success to individuals that are gracious enough
to volunteer their time coaching, organizing, fundraising and cheering for our
players. On behalf of the entire Crude organization I would like to thank the
parents, grandparents, relatives and friends that have so generously
contributed to make this lacrosse season possible.
I look forward
to seeing everyone at Akinsdale Arena this year cheering on both the Tier I and
Tier II Crude as they both work toward becoming Alberta champions.
